Human remains found inside Rockhampton home after massive suspicious blaze

Human remains have been found inside the charred shell of a home destroyed by fire in Rockhampton overnight.

Fire crews were called to the home in Lakes Creek about 2am to find the home completely engulfed in flames.

Neighbours heard explosions as the two-storey home started to collapse.

It took firefighters several hours to bring the fire under control so they could enter the home.

The identity and gender of the body is yet to be determined.

Fire investigators and forensic police are at the scene.

The fire is being treated as suspicious.
