QLD man in hospital after bashing

A man is in hospital after allegedly being set upon by four people while walking down a street in far north Queensland.

Police say the 40-year-old was walking through Rockhampton at about 2am (AEST) on Friday when he was assaulted by two men and two women.

The victim was taken to Rockhampton Base Hospital for head and arm injuries.

Four people are facing assault charges over the incident.

Two men, aged 20 and 18, will appear in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Friday, while two women, aged 29 and 26, will appear on May 12.
