Man allegedly bit and choked woman after ramming her car in Gatton

A man has been charged after he allegedly rammed a woman's ute and got into the vehicle, then bit her, choked her and sat on top of her as he drove away in south-east Queensland.

Police said they pulled over the ute near Gatton about 9.25pm yesterday, after seeing the man driving while sitting on top of the woman and struggling with her.

Investigators will allege he forced himself into the ute after he had rammed it with his hatchback on Freemans Road and threatened her with a tomahawk.

Police said the pair are known to each other.

The woman, 34, was treated at Gatton Hospital for a bite wound to her left forearm, minor wounds to her hands and swelling to her forehead

The man, 38, has been charged with several assault and driving offences and is due to appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court toay.
