Qantas bookings glitch 'back to normal'

A glitch in a computer system used by Qantas that disrupted passenger bookings is "back to normal", with the Australian carrier insisting it was unrelated to the Petya global cyber attack.

Qantas said the Amadeus booking system, an IT system used by airlines around the world, had been hit by hardware problems that have caused intermittent outages.

"To be clear, Qantas has not been impacted by the Petya ransomeware attack," Qantas said in a statement on Wednesday.

"Flights are operating as scheduled and the system is back to normal."
