His political career may not be cooked yet, but Tony Abbott is being commemorated by people putting out raw onions to mark the end of his legacy.
The prime minister's bizarre raw onion eating viral video is front and centre in the minds of Twitterers as the hashtag #putoutyouronions trends across Australia.
As the nation waits to find out the result of tonight's leadership ballot, social media users have mocked Mr Abbott with photos of onions outside their doors.

The trend is a nod to #putoutyourbats, when Australian's made tributes to Australian cricketer Phillip Hughes.
But this round of tributes is far less heartfelt.
