Power restored after blackout hits thousands of Sydney homes
Power has been restored after several thousand homes were blacked out in inner Sydney this morning.
The outage affected power in Ultimo and Pyrmont, with homes and streets going dark just after 3.30am.
Ausgrid initially said it hoped it would be a moderate blackout, with the power to return in four to eight hours.

Traffic lights have also been affected by the outage. 9News
Just after 7am, the energy company confirmed power had been restored "to Darling Harbour, Haymarket, Sydney and surrounding suburbs".
Police had been on the streets directing drivers, with traffic lights down as well.
The Dulwich Hill light rail line is experiencing delays following the outage, and commuters are urged to allow extra travel time this morning.
