Possible MH370 debris found in WA

Authorities are investigating debris found on the WA coast that could be wreckage from the missing MH370 flight.

WA Police have gone to a beach 10km east of Augusta south of Perth, where material has washed ashore.

The investigation of the scene comes after some debris was handed in to Busselton Police Station.

It will be handed over to the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) later tonight.

"It's sufficiently interesting for us to take a look at the photographs," ATSB chief Martin Dolan told CNN.

"The more we look at it, the less excited we get."

Mr Dolan said the debris looked like sheet metal with rivets in it.

Photos of the debris are now being analysed by investigators, and have been forwarded on to authorities in Malaysia.

The area is right near the southwesternmost point of Australia.

The Malaysia Airlines flight disappeared on March 8 with 239 people on board.
