Porter welcomes Barnett victory

Federal minister Christian Porter has welcomed the defeat of a spill motion against his former state colleague, West Australian Premier Colin Barnett.
A partyroom spill motion brought by disgruntled WA Liberals was lost 31 votes to 15 on Tuesday.
"I think he's been an outstanding premier - eight years of really good, stable, strong, sensible government," Mr Porter told the National Press Club in Canberra.
