Police subdue slithery snake in Sydney’s south

Two NSW police officers have gone above and beyond the call of duty, capturing a snake while on call in Sydney’s south.

The constables from St George Local Area Command were called to a job in Rockdale around 10:45pm (AEDT) on Friday when they encountered the slithery creature perched outside a window.

One of the officers is a volunteer snake catcher with NSW Wildlife Information and  Rescue Services and conveniently had a hook and bag in the patrol car.

Video released by the NSW Police Force show the officer bringing the snake inside as it coils around his hand.

The constable was able to subdue the snake and return it to the wildlife service.
