Exclusive video shows police pull Tasers on man in carpark

Video obtained exclusively by 9NEWs shows police pull their Tasers on a man who allegedly rammed their vehicles at a Coomera shopping centre.

An off-duty police officer spotted a suspected stolen car in the carpark of a shopping centre in Coomera just before 5pm yesterday and called for back-up.

The driver then allegedly tried to ram the car into two police vehicles, prompting police to fire two shots into the car’s tyres.

The standoff that followed was caught on camera.

Shocked witnesses watched on as police yelled at a man to “get on the ground”.

Mitchell Kiehne, 22, was eventually taken into custody and charged with 14 offences.

He was taken to hospital last night for treatment for an eye injury before facing court today where he was refused bail.

A 22-year-old woman was charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and will appear in court later this month.
