Motorist killed in horror crash involving truck and car south of Adelaide

A motorist has been killed in a collision between a car and a truck on the Victor Harbor Road near McLaren Vale earlier today.

Police said the crash happened just after 1.30pm near Quarry Road, close to the top of the hill.

The driver of the truck was trapped in the wreckage and had to be cut free.

He was taken to the Flinders Medical Centre for non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the white sedan was unable to be saved.

Victor Harbor Road remains closed in both directions as Major Crash Investigation officers investigate the crash.
