Nine News has obtained exclusive pictures of the moment a dramatic pursuit in Perth's south came to a crashing end.

The stolen Holden Commodore can be seen ramming its way through a set of bollards on Nairn Drive in Baldivis.

With the tyres blown, the stolen vehicle stops outside a home on Branchton Loop and is then set on by police who arrest the 20-year-old driver.

The chase started around 12.30am last night and lasted for a total of 15 minutes, with the driver speeding through suburban streets.

Witnesses say they saw sparks flying from the back of the vehicle, as three police cars followed closely behind.

The station wagon was also spotted driving the wrong way down a main road at one point, to get away from officers.

The driver was charged with a number of offences. 9News

Police say most of the pursuit was done at low speed but locals say it was lucky no one was hurt or killed by the out-of-control car.

Resident Daena Adam said the car came to a stop on her front verge.

"My son was in the bedroom and how close it was to the front of the house, very lucky that's where the car stopped," she said.
