Police officer breaks up brawl between kangaroo and German shepherd

Police were forced to break up an almost 20-minute battle between a kangaroo and a German shepherd on Sunday.

Anthony Hartley filmed for approximately two-and-a-half minutes of what he claims was a 20 minute slog between the dog and the marsupial on Kosciuszko Road, Cooma.

Mr Hartley was driving back from the snow when he noticed the fighting animals and pulled over onto the side of the street to film it.

Refusing to stand down to the aggressive kangaroo, the German shepherd can be seen continually barking in the kangaroo's face.

"Saw the dog and the kangaroo having a scuffle for about 20 minutes until the police came and broke it up," Mr Hartley wrote on YouTube.

A police officer can then be seen scaring off the kangaroo by waving a large branch.

In December, a video of a man punching a kangaroo to save a trapped dog was viewed millions of times after being shared on Facebook by a man in the US.
