Police investigating after Israeli flag stolen from Sydney council
An Israel flag stolen from Woollahra Council in Sydney's eastern suburbs has been replaced.
A council spokesperson said the flag was stolen and confirmed CCTV footage has been handed into the police depicting a lone man taking the flag.
Mayor Richard Shields said council decided to fly the flag to support people in the Woollahra community who are of Jewish faith or have relatives in Israel.

"The raising of the flag is a symbol of our community's solidarity with Israel for the horrific murder of more than 1400 innocent men, women and children," Shields said.
"We should not forget the 239 innocent Israelis that are still being held hostage by an internationally recognised terrorist organisation.
"Our community's support should not waver until all of the hostages are released."
Police said an investigation is underway into the incident.
