Police investigate third arson attack on Melbourne churches

Police are investigating an arson attack on a Catholic church in Melbourne - the third in the city in a week.

Fire crews took an hour and a half to extinguish the blaze at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Dandenong in the early hours of this morning.

It follows the inferno that destroyed St James Church in Brighton early on Monday morning, before a fire was also lit at St Mary’s Church in St Kilda East on the same day.

Police are investigating possible links between the attacks.
