Human bone found at popular beach in Perth

Police are investigating the discovery of a human bone at a popular beach in Western Australia.

The human remains were found at Cottesloe Beach, about 12km south-west of Perth CBD, last Saturday.

It was secured by surf life savers and later collected by a forensic officer.

The bone was later determined to be human by a pathologist.

Further forensic testing will now take place to match the bone to any outstanding missing persons.
