Police hunt pervert seen near Melbourne playground

Victorian police have released CCTV of a man spotted acting suspiciously near a children’s playground in Melbourne’s east.

The man was seen sitting in front of an indoor playground at the Knox City Shopping Centre around 8.30am on April 10.

The man fled when he was observed acting obscenely by a mother sitting nearby.

“While watching the children play, the man continually rubbed his genitals over his clothing and appeared to be pleasuring himself,” Victoria Police said in a statement.

“A mother noticed the man staring at her two-year-old son and immediately became concerned. 

“When the man saw he was being watched, he promptly left the area.” 

The wanted man is described as being Asian in appearance and middle aged with black hair.

He was wearing black pants, a white shirt and was holding a grey hooded jumper when he was filmed.
