Police hunt for alleged arsonist who set Adelaide park on fire
Police are on the hunt for an alleged arsonist after an Adelaide grass fire that appears to have been started by fireworks.
More than 40 firefighters rushed to extinguish the blaze that was sparked at the Shepherds Hill Recreational Park at 11.20pm on Thursday.
The fire ripped through two hectares of land and got as close as 100 metres to nearby homes. Locals were evacuated by the South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service (MFS) as the blaze moved closer to Springwood Close.

Mother and daughter Sarah Pech and Jasmine told 9News they heard fireworks right before the flames broke out.
"It sounded like gunshots and it was like 15 of them consistently," daughter Jasmine said
"My room was filled with smoke and I didn't have any windows open."
"It was very scary. I got some hoses out the back just to wet our area down," mother Sarah said.
Nineteen-year-old Jasmine managed to alert her neighbour that a fire had broken out before MFS arrived.
Police confirmed the blaze was started after the illegal use of fireworks and have collected empty fireworks shells from the scene.
