Brisbane police come down hard on city's worst train passengers

Antisocial and violent revelers heading into Brisbane via train were targeted by the city’s police on the weekend, with 11 people arrested for various offences.

Operation Gateway has involved dozens of police and sniffer dogs targeting Park Road and Bowen Hills stations.

Those arrested were charged with drug possession and public nuisance offences, as well as some having outstanding warrants.

Dozens more were fined for fare evasion.

Police conduct more than 300 special operations similar to Gateway every year, and they say they will continue until antisocial passengers get the message.
