Police chopper vision shows dramatic arrest after alleged pursuit through Brisbane’s southern suburbs

Aerial footage of an alleged police pursuit in Brisbane shows the moment a 21-year-old man allegedly lay himself down on the ground in surrender before five police officers ran forward to arrest him.

Police allege the man drove at police officers as they attempted to breath test him at Moorooka before driving away around 8.30pm on Thursday night.

Three hours later police spotted him at Parkinson and the pursuit began when he allegedly again evaded police.

Vision shows the man allegedly leading police through Brisbane’s southern suburbs, at one point getting out of the car to see if the police helicopter Polair was tracking him.

Police successfully deployed stingers and the man eventually realised his car was now too slow to continue his alleged escape attempt.

The man is seen getting out of the car, putting his hands in the air and lying on the ground behind his car as police officers run forward to arrest him.

Police allege the man had stolen the SUV and a number of other items from a house on Pintail Crescent in Forest Lake.

He has been charged with a number of burglary and driving offences.
