Police assaulted at wild Queensland house party

Police have been pelted with bottles and two female officers were assaulted while trying to shut down a wild house party southwest of Brisbane.

More than 20 crews from Ipswich were called in to break up a rowdy crowd of around 120 teenagers at the Redbank Plains property just after 11pm overnight.

When officers tried to arrest one partygoer, the crowd became aggressive and threw bottles at them, police say.

Two female officers were assaulted but escaped injury.

Four people, aged 14 to 17, have been charged with a number of offences, including public nuisance and assault or obstruct police.

Three other teenagers have been issued with infringement notices for public nuisance.
