Man charged with murder of Syeid Alam, whose remains were found on Rockhampton river bank

Police have this morning charged a 34-year-old man with the murder of central Queensland man Syeid Alam.
Syeid Alam's remains were found on the banks of the Fitzroy River on the morning of April 16, near the Reaney Street boat ramp in Berserker, Rockhampton.
Mr Alam, 33, had been reported missing by his family on April 6 after he was last seen leaving an Allenstown property the night before, police said.
Police have formally identified the remains as those of Mr Alam, and found some of his personal property at the scene.
The man is die to appear in Rockhampton Magistrates Court today.
Police have previously asked anyone who was in the vicinity of the boat ramp between April 5 and April 19 to come forward.
Any nearby business or home owners with CCTV cameras should also contact police.
