Police allegedly seize drug paraphernalia after school bus road rage incident

NSW police have allegedly seized a knife and an ‘ice’ pipe from a car involved in a collision with a school bus in Sydney’s east.

There were about 57 primary school children and three teachers on the bus as it travelled south along Anzac Parade in Kingsford, shortly before 4.30pm yesterday when it collided with a black Volvo sedan.

Police allege the 22-year-old Volvo younger man got out of his car and tried to force open the bus door.

The bus driver tried to restrain him, and a struggle ensued.

The Volvo driver then returned to his car and allegedly armed himself with a utility knife.

At this time, the bus driver got back on the bus, locked the door, and drove away before calling police.

Police arrested the 22-year-old man and took him to the Prince of Wales Hospital for blood and urine testing.

He was later charged with assault and destroying property.

He was granted conditional bail to appear in Waverley Local Court on September 17.
