Man charged after 'biting police' repeatedly on the hands

A man has been charged and two police officers injured after an alleged biting attack in Adelaide.

Police say officers had been speaking with the man at a house in Valley View on a routine inquiry just before 3.30am.

However, it is alleged violence erupted and the man bit two officers repeatedly on the hands.

They tried to subdue him using capsicum spray, and resorted to using a taser when he allegedly bit one of the officers on the leg and would not release his hold.

Exclusive footage obtained by 9News shows the 38-year-old suspect claiming he is unable to breathe.

The officers were treated at Wakefield Hospital.

The arrested man was taken to the Royal Adelaide, and released this morning to be charged with two counts of aggravated assault and resist police.

He will face court at a later date.

The officers involved are expected to make a full recovery.
