PM weighs up extra parliament week
AAP
The federal parliament could sit for an extra week before Christmas to deal with any issues arising from MPs publicly declaring their citizenship eligibility.
It is understood Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull is weighing up the move to enable High Court referrals if his proposed process uncovers MPs with questionable eligibility due to their dual citizenship.
Mr Turnbull will discuss the process with Opposition Leader Bill Shorten on Wednesday.
