PM goes to Lindt Cafe

Prime Minister Tony Abbott has arrived at the reopened Lindt Cafe in Martin Place, 95 days after the fatal siege that claimed the lives of Tori Johnson and Katrina Dawson.

Mr Abbott quickly entered the packed cafe and could be seen chatting with staff and members of the public before he emerged with a take-away hot chocolate in hand.

"I think all of them are there to show solidarity with the workers of Lindt cafe and those who were killed or injured on that terrible day," Mr Abbott told reporters.

"I think there was disbelief. Life goes on."

He said there was a clear message from the day.

"You might occasionally frighten us, but you'll never change the way we live," he said.

The cafe reopened on Friday, three months after gunman Man Haron Monis took 18 people hostage.
