PM Abbott hopes house prices rise

Prime Minister Tony Abbott says he hopes house prices will continue to rise.

Treasury secretary John Fraser says he's worried low interest rates are encouraging people to "over-invest in housing", especially in Sydney and parts of Melbourne.

"I want housing to be affordable, but nevertheless I also want house prices to be modestly increasing," Mr Abbott told parliament on Monday.
