Plibersek says don't ban Israel visits

Federal Labor's deputy leader Tanya Plibersek has rejected calls for a ban on members of parliament taking sponsored travel to Israel.

The NSW Labor party conference this weekend is expected to debate a motion on the ban.

"I don't actually think you can really understand the geography, how close people live, how intertwined the communities are until you have visited," Ms Plibersek told the National Press Club on Wednesday.
