A teenage pizza delivery boy who snuck into the New York City apartment of a former actress and raped her while her child slept beside her has been sentenced to 13 years jail.

Cesar Lucas showed no emotion as he was sentenced in Manhattan Supreme Court yesterday.

Lucas, 18, admitted to breaking into the Kia Graves' apartment in 2012 after delivering a pizza to another person on her floor.

He raped her while her 7-year-old daughter slept on the bed beside her.

He told police he carried out the attack because he was "feeling horny," and also stole Graves' iPhone and some cash.

In an illiterate hand-written confession, Lucas tried to place the blame on Graves claiming she "was drunk" and that he had "this type of feelings he had never felted before which led him to do things he would never think he would do in his life (all sic)".

Graves bravely addressed her attacker in court, telling the judge that while she wants to move on with her life, she is not yet ready to forgive Lucas.

"They say time heals everything but I'm still waiting. I'm not ready to make nice and I'm not ready to back down (…) he deserves everything the court is sentencing him to today."

In addition to the 13 years jail time, Lucas has also received 20 years' post-release supervision.
