Pilot found dead after chopper vanishes in remote WA bush

A 62-year-old pilot has been found dead after his helicopter crashed in Western Australia.
The single-seat helicopter took off from Indee Station, in South Hedland, about 4pm yesterday on its way to Roy Hill Station in Nullagine.

The wreckage of the chopper was discovered about 3.20pm today about 11km north of Roy Hill Station, towards the end of the 300km air journey.
The pilot was found dead at the scene.
An investigation has commenced into the causes of the crash and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
The family of the pilot has been notified.
