Photos of vehicle released in desperate search for missing Queensland teen

Pictures of a red car have been released in a new bid for information about missing Queensland teenager Jayde Kendall.

The 16-year-old school girl from Gatton was last seen getting into a red hatchback outside her Lockyer District High School last Friday.

She was seen getting into the car around 3.15pm with a teenage boy known to her from school and work. Police said she got into the car of her own free will.

Police believe the pair travelled into the Gatton business district and surrounding area between 3pm and 6pm that evening and are appealing for anyone who may have seen the car in the area to contact them.

Police believe Jayde spent a few hours with the teenager, but do not know where she went after that.

9NEWS understands he is being considered a person of interest but no charges have been laid.

The new appeal comes as police concede their search for the missing teen could soon become a murder investigation.

Queensland police have revealed Jayde’s bank account, mobile phone and Facebook page have not been touched since she disappeared six days ago.

A search by police and SES volunteers through thick Ipswich bushland, where an item belonging to the teen was found on a roadside in Walloon, 45 kilometres from where she was last seen, failed to unearth any new leads.

“As time goes on, you’ve got to be realistic,” Detective Inspector David Isherwood said.

Detectives have also seized mobile phones from school friends and colleagues from the McDonalds where she worked, for any clues into her disappearance.
