Crackdown on South Australian petrol stations failing to report real-time prices
As petrol costs rise in South Australia, the state government is touting a pre-Easter crackdown on outlets that fail to report their real-time prices.
The government introduced laws two years ago requiring petrol stations to report real-time petrol pricing to the state's consumer watchdog Consumer and Business Services.
Since then, the watchdog has carried out 1500 inspections.

Around 250 warning letters have been issued but just 18 received $550 fines.
"For those that are repeat offenders more serious action will be taken through prosecutions," Minister for Consumer and Business Affairs Andrea Michaels said.
But some outlets have been repeatedly fined and still, none has faced prosecution.
Today the government couldn't say how many times an outlet can break the law, before having to face court.
"It's just a question of balance of when the commissioner thinks it's appropriate to prosecute," Michaels said.

The move comes as petrol prices are forecast to hit more than $2 a litre. 9News
Some of those repeat offenders will be the target of this latest blitz as will service stations in holiday areas.
It is expected that 12 inspectors will target at least 150 outlets across the state.
The Royal Automobile Association has welcomed the blitz and hopes it will serve as a warning to outlets attempting to dupe motorists, with petrol prices today sitting just below $2 a litre.
