PETA gives PM a new birthday suit
Malcolm Turnbull has been sent a new birthday suit and it's not the real deal.
Animal activist group PETA has picked out a "vegan" leather jacket for the prime minister's 62nd birthday, after he famously wore a real one on ABC's Q&A program.
The jacket, specially made by James&Co, is black faux leather and PETA hopes it conveys to Mr Turnbull that the leather industry is torture for animals and toxic to the environment.
"Fashion is about more than just looking good - it's also a statement about who you are and what you stand for", associate director of campaigns Ashley Fruno said in a statement on Thursday.
"We hope this gift inspires Prime Minister Turnbull to take that dead weight off his shoulders and wear his heart on his sleeve once more."
