Perth woman sexually assaulted in violent home invasion

Perth police are searching for a man who allegedly broke into a home in Hilton last night and raped a woman in her 50s.

The intruder forced his way inside about 11:30pm, physically and sexually assaulting the victim.

The woman was taken to hospital by St John Ambulance.

The offender is described as being 18 to 25 years old, short, of slim build, with stubble and a heavy jaw.

He was wearing black trousers and a dark grey hoody.

The Sexual Assault Squad is investigating.

Police are urging anyone who saw any suspicious people or vehicles in the Hilton area between 8pm and 2am to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
