Exclusive: Dockers star caught up in birthday brawl
A star Docker has suffered facial injuries during a brawl outside a party in Mandurah, south of Perth.
Defender Nathan Wilson was at a 21st birthday party in Banyon Close when he was caught up in the ugly street fight and punched in the face on Saturday night.
A Fremantle Dockers spokesman said the club was aware of an incident involving the defender and Wilson advised the club of shortly after it occurred.
“Wilson had to have two stitches to a cut above his eye,” the spokesman said.
“Police attended an address in Mandurah where the party was being held and have subsequently advised that Wilson is not under investigation with regard to the matter,” he said.
The violence broke out when guests were asked to leave just after midnight and several party guests became aggressive.
The 26-year-old was recruited last year from Western Sydney.
Police say Wilson and another victim were either unable, or unwilling to identify their attackers.
