A senior project officer at the City of Perth has been charged with two counts of corruption relating to CBD capital works.

The 38-year-old woman is accused of using her position to benefit the director of a plumbing company whom she met in 2010.

It is alleged that between August 2011 and January 2012, she did not follow procurement policies in relation to two projects in the city, resulting in fees of $62,300 being paid to the plumbing company.

The 37-year-old director of the plumbing firm has also been charged with one count of corruption, and is accused of enabling the senior project officer to act corruptly in order to gain a benefit.

Both are scheduled to appear in the Central Law Courts on February 4.

The matter was initially identified by the City of Perth and then investigated by the Corruption and Crime Commission.
