Woman dies in house fire in Perth

A woman in her 30s has died in a house fire in Perth's southeast.

Investigators found a body in the house at Mills Road West in the suburb of Martin after the blaze on Monday morning.

"Based on our initial inquiries it is believed the deceased person is a woman in her 30s," police said in a statement.

Significant damage was caused to the house, police said.

Firefighters were called at 6.30am and said the fire was extinguished at 6.55am, the Department of Fire and Emergency Services said.

Fire investigators are examining the scene and police say inquiries are continuing.
