A man accused of sexually assaulting a three-year-old girl at Perisher Valley, in the NSW Snowy Mountains, has been released on bail after his family posted $200,000 in surety.

David Carl Ewen, 50, has remained behind bars since his arrest in August, after allegedly luring a toddler into a confined stairwell of the Chalet Sonnenhof during the July school holidays.

Under strict bail conditions granted today in the NSW Supreme Court, Mr Ewen is to reside as his Roseville home, on Sydney's leafy North Shore, and report daily to police.

In addition, Mr Ewen must "not enter the Snowy Mountains region, other than for the purposes of attending court" and must not "be in the presence of any children under the age of 16 years unless in the company of another adult".

The 50-year-old was also required to surrender his passport, commit to strict curfews and on-going treatment through therapy and medication.

Bail was initially declined, after police tendered facts to the court stating there may be more victims.

The matter will resume before Queanbeyan Local Court on October 6.
