People smugglers won't win: Turnbull

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has reaffirmed the coalition's border protection policies after the High Court validated Australia's offshore processing regime.

The judgment and its implications would be carefully considered but it was important to stress the nation's borders were secure, he told parliament on Wednesday.

"The people smugglers will not prevail over our sovereignty."
