Pedestrian dies after being hit by a car

A pedestrian has died when she was hit by a car in Brisbane's north.

The woman was attempting to cross Gympie Road at Kedron when she was hit by a Sedan about 7.15am today.

Paramedics treated her at the scene but she was unable to be saved.

Two northbound lanes on Gympie Road, near Homebush Road, remain closed, with police asking drivers to avoid the area.
