Pedestrian dies on NSW highway

A young man has died after a truck hit him in NSW's north.

The man, 25, was hit on the Pacific Highway at Coolongolook, on the mid-north coast, on Thursday morning.

The truck driver has been taken to hospital for mandatory blood alcohol tests.

Police say he is also being treated for shock.
