One Nation Senator Pauline Hanson has dropped legal proceedings against the ABC that sought to stop it airing "secret" telephone recordings.

Senator Hanson's lawyers discontinued proceedings against the ABC in the NSW Supreme Court today and she was ordered to pay the national broadcaster's legal fees.

However, legal proceedings against former One Nation treasurer Ian Nelson, who has temporarily been stopped from distributing recordings related to the party, are continuing.

Ms Hanson last week launched the legal action against the ABC and Mr Nelson about covert recordings being broadcast, following a story by the broadcaster’s 7.30 program.

It revealed a secretly recorded phone conversation between the Senator and Mr Nelson surrounding the alleged donation of a light aircraft, the ABC reports.
