Parents want charges laid after brutal attack on teen girl in Sydney

A brutal attack on a teenage girl in Sydney’s south-west has been caught on camera.

What started out as name-calling escalated into a vicious and prolonged assault on Jaimee-Lee Morecroft as a year 12 student filmed the 13-year-old being attacked.

The footage shows her being held by the hair and thrown to the ground where she is repeatedly kicked in the head.

In the video she can be heard telling her attacker: “I never said anything about your brother”.

Once back on her feet Jaimee-Lee is punched several times.

She says she hardly remembers the attack, but has been unable to attend school since.

The year 8 student from Eagle Vale High School responsible for the bashing was given a 21-day suspension which ends today.

But her family hope charges will be laid against her attacker.

Her mother Vickie Williams can't watch the footage, hearing it is enough.

“It makes me sick,” she said.

“She’s my child, mothers shouldn’t have to watch stuff like that.”

The Campbelltown girl’s grandmother was distraught over the attack.

“They could have killed her,” she said.

The aggressor, also a year 8 student, was given a 21-day suspension.

Jamiee-Lee will to face her attacker for the first time, when she arrives for school in the morning.

“I feel scared when she comes back to school,” she said.

Jamiee-Lee said she had received threats on social media prior to the attack.

Police are investigating.
