Parental, youth means testing simpler

The federal government is simplifying family welfare payments by removing complicated means testing.

Social Services Minister Scott Morrison on Thursday introduced legislation to parliament aligning the criteria to qualify for family tax benefit part-A with youth income-support payments.

The changes would help working families support children moving from school to further study.
