Palmer's carbon tax challenge fails

A Clive Palmer company has lost a High Court challenge against the now defunct carbon tax.

Queensland Nickel has been ordered to pay costs for the failed challenge, which argued the carbon tax was unconstitutional because it differentiated between states.

The High Court on Wednesday unanimously upheld the validity of the law that gave free carbon permits to nickel producers.
