Mining magnate-turned-federal MP Clive Palmer believes parliament has no right to intervene in legal challenges to mining developments.

The federal government will ask parliament to amend environmental protection laws to remove the power of indirect third parties from taking ministerial approvals to the courts.

"It's not for parliament to intervene when there's a decision you don't like," he told reporters in Canberra on Wednesday.
