One dead after crash at Pacific Highway, Woodburn

A motorist has died after a two-vehicle crash on the Pacific Highway at Woodburn this afternoon, and the highway remains closed in both directions.

A car and semi-trailer crashed head-on about 5pm (AEDT) near Wondawee Way, NSW Police Force said in a statement. 

The car's driver died at the scene and is yet to be formally identified. Police also believe the driver was the sole occupant of the car.

The truck driver was treated by paramedics at the scene and has been taken to Lismore Base Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests. 

Drivers should avoid the area, and can use Summerland Way and the Bruxner Highway as an alternative route.

Police investigations into the crash are ongoing.
