P-plater blows nearly five times the limit with three kids inside the car

A P-plater driver with three kids in the car has been charged with high-range drink driving after allegedly blowing a blood-alcohol level nearly five times the legal limit.

The 38-year-old man was pulled over by police around 4.50pm for driving erratically along Ruby Street, Carramar, in Sydney's west.

Police found three children, aged 12, 14 and 17, inside the car with the driver.

A breath test registered an alleged reading of 0.234 - close to five times the legal limit of 0.05.

He was charged with high-range drink driving and his licence was suspended.

The man was issued with a notice to appear in Fairfield Local Court on September 19.
