The winner of a multi-million dollar Oz Lotto jackpot has finally come forward to collect their prize.

It isn’t known why the anonymous winner chose to wait 10 days before handing the ticket in, or if they even knew they had won, but the Sydney newsagent that sold the ticket said he was relieved the winner finally turned up.

“I was getting worried they had lost the ticket or thrown it away so I am so relieved to hear they have been united with their prize,” David Zhou, the owner of Pacific Square News in Maroubra said.

“It has been busy in store over the ten days with people checking their tickets and everyone kept asking me and asking me ‘Have you found the winner?’.”

While the winning ticket was purchased at the Anzac Parade store, it wasn’t checked there so Mr Zhou doesn’t know who the winner is.

He did say he hopes it is one of his regular customers and that they will enjoy living the multi-millionaire lifestyle.

“Many of our winners tell us that the first thing they do will be to ensure they look after their family followed by buying a property and going on holiday,” NSW Lotteries spokesperson Bronnie Spencer said.

“Whatever our winner decides to do, we know from other winners’ experiences that many people will benefit either directly, or indirectly, from such a whopping win.”

There was another major win in last night’s Powerball, with an unknown ticket-holder in Tasmania yet to claim the major prize.

The $30 million-winning ticket was purchased in a Hobart newsagent and the winner may not know they are millions of dollars richer.
