Zara and Jeans West rank worst on Oxfam naughty or nice list

On 24th November, 2022, Nine News broadcast a short report on the Oxfam 'Naughty or Nice' list. Unfortunately the report referred to the 2021 list.

Nine News confirms that in 2022 Lorna Jane has been declared the 'nicest' brand on the list. Myer is also included in the 2022 'nice' list. Nine News apologises for the error.

Zara and Jeans West have been called out by Oxfam, declared the naughtiest in the annual Naughty or Nice List.

The two fashion brands have been shamed for failing to commit to transparency by sharing their factory locations and benchmarking garment workers' wages.

The Naughty or Nice List congratulates brands that have made commitments around wages and names those that can do better.

Lorna Jane was named the "nicest" on the list, while Cotton On, Gorman, Dangerfield, Myer, Katies and Country Road have also been praised.

This year Oxfam asked brands to commit to conducting a wage gap analysis, which involves calculating the difference between current worker wages and the living wage.

A living wage is enough money earned in a standard workweek to afford a decent standard of living for the worker and their family.

Oxfam is urging shoppers to check the 2022 Naughty or Nice list before they start their Christmas shopping.
